RICHARD GREEN
(1866 - 1914)

Richard Green made his debut in "Ivanhoe" at Sullivan's ill- fated Royal English Opera, and subsequently appeared in "Haddon Hall" at the Savoy. He appeared at Covent Garden the following season, and was Silvio in the English premiere of "I Pagliacci". He also played Escamillo at Drury Line, and Konrad in "Die Meistersinger" at Covent Garden with Jean de Reske [1895]. He was seen in "The French Maid" by Basil Hood and Walter Slaughter, and a few other West End musicals, and made his last appearance at the Savoy as Giuseppe in the 1907 revival of "The Gondoliers".
