Nan Bethell joined the Company in September 1909 and until 1912 played the parts of Kate (Pirates), Lady Saphir, Leila, and Chloe. She was with the Company from July 1913 to March 1914 and returned in July 1921 to play Mrs. Partlet, Lady Saphir, Chloe, and Inez.
She continued until 1939, playing only Mrs. Partlet, and from January 1947 to April 1948 was Stage Director.
She was a much-loved person, and was married to Sydney Granville.
Miss Bethell died in 1969.
