LOUIE HENRI (1864 - 1947)

Louie Henri's real name was Louisa Webber. She was born in Paddington on 12th April 1864 and made her stage debut in 1882. She was appearing with Kate Santley's company in 1883 when Henry Lytton joined. They were married in 1884, the year in which they first appeared with the D'Oyly Carte Company.

She and her husband toured with the company from 1888 to 1896, during which time Miss Henri played all the soubrette roles as well as Julia Jellicoe in "The Grand Duke". In 1891 she played Tessa in the revival of "The Gondoliers" in London. It was her only appearance at the Savoy. After that she retired from the stage to devote herself to her family. Some years later, she appeared in silent films. She died on 2nd May 1947.
