DAVID YOUNG

David Young left the Ayrshire Police Force in 1961 and appeared as a singer both in Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as on various guest spots on Scottish Television. In 1962 he came to London to appear in the Tower of London performances of "The Yeomen of the Guard" and then joined Sadler's Wells Opera Company for a tour.

He joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in May 1968 and soon became a principal tenor understudy. He was with the company until 1969.
